It’s official.

Oklahoma will meet Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship.

The Sooners emerged out of a three-way tie with Oklahoma State and Texas A&M atop the South Division by virtue of having the best BCS ranking.

OU is ranked No. 9 in the BCS, while OSU is No. 14 and Texas A&M, No. 18.

“It seems fitting that Oklahoma and Nebraska would meet in this game,” Bob Stoops said shortly after the standings came out Sunday night in a statement.

“This has been a great rivalry for a long, long time and college football fans around the country will appreciate this game in particular. I want to congratulate Coach (Bo) Pelini and Nebraska on their great season and for winning the Big 12 North. From our perspective, we’re proud to be in the championship game for an eighth time. Our players begin each season with specific goals and winning the Big 12 Championship is near the top of that list. This team has shown resilience and a desire to keep getting better. As I’ve said before, they’ve been a joy to coach. All of us are focused now on putting a great finish on the season.”
