STILLWATER -- Justin Gilbert was named Big 12 Special Teams player of the week on Monday. The Oklahoma State cornerback returned a kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown in the Cowboys 47-41 loss to Oklahoma on Saturday.

Gilbert, a true freshman cornerback from Huntsville, Texas, finished with six kickoff returns for 189 yards.

Gilbert was the second straight Cowboy to be honored with special teams player of the week honors after receiver Michael Harrison earned the honor after blocking a punt and returning it for a touchdown against Kansas.

This is the eighth time a OSU player has earned player of the week honors. Gilbert joins Harrison, Brandon Weeden (twice), Ugo Chinasa, Orie Lemon, Kendall Hunter, Justin Blackmon and Dan Bailey.
