DeMarco Murray rushes for 208 yards but the defense struggles as Utah State quarterback Diondre Borel throws for 341 yards. The offense pounds out two first downs to preserve the win.


SEPT. 11

OU 47, Florida St. 24

(at Norman)

OU dominates, building a 41-7 lead. Landry Jones throws for 380 yards and four TDs to exploit coach Bob Stoops' brother Mark's soft coverage. FSU star Christian Ponder has only 113 passing yards.

SEPT. 18

OU 27, Air Force 24

(at Norman)

Similar to Utah State, the Sooners have to pound out two first downs to preserve a win. DeMarco Murray runs for 110 yards but Air Force keeps it close by rushing for 351 yards.

SEPT. 25

OU 31, Cincinnati 29

(at Cincinnati)

Landry Jones throws for 370 yards. OU builds a 24-9 lead but must recover an onside kick to escape. Cincinnati's Isaiah Pead runs for 169 yards and QB Zach Collaros throws for 305 yards.

OCT. 2

OU 28, Texas 20

(at Dallas)

Outgained for the fourth time in five games, the Sooners dominate early to lead 21-7. OU recovers a fumbled punt to clinch the win. DeMarco Murray runs for 115 yards and Landry Jones throws for 236 yards.

OCT. 16

OU 52, Iowa St. 0

(at Norman)

The Sooners dominate, outgaining the Cyclones 672-183. DeMarco Murray scores three TDs to break Steve Owens career record. Ryan Broyles catches a school record 15 passes for 182 yards.
