Thunder notebook: Kevin Durant can relate to being booed

“That crowd was hostile,†Durant said, “but that was kind of cool to see LeBron go in there (and play so well).â€
Asked if he's ever been booed, the universally liked Durant smiled and said, “Of course I've been booed, on the road, especially in college. Texas A&M. Oklahoma State was probably the worst. Of course you get booed in college because they don't care who you are.
“In the NBA? We got booed in Oklahoma City one game in my second year (the Thunder's first season). We weren't playing so well.â€
Durant was referring to the 108-88 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers at the Ford Center on Nov. 19, 2008. With 2:50 remaining in the third quarter and the Clippers in the midst of 42-12 run, Thunder fans booed after coach P.J. Carlesimo called for a timeout.
There were more moans than boos, but there undeniably were boos.
It was the Thunder's ninth straight loss and dropped its record to 1-11. Two nights later, the Thunder lost by 25 at home to New Orleans and assistant Scott Brooks was picked to replace Carlesimo as head coach.
