Does anyone believe Jason Garrett can lead the Dallas Cowboys to a Super Bowl?
As Jerry Jones weighs the question of whether to keep Jason Garrett as his head coach, the Dallas Cowboys owner may have gained some insight from an unlikely place: West Virginia.
ARLINGTON, Texas — Don't look now, but Jason Garrett is 4-2 as an NFL head coach.
Opie's Dallas Cowboys beat the Redskins 33-30 Sunday, which doesn't save a season from the toilet but serves as air freshener.

Jon Kitna kept playing gutty quarterback, David Buehler kicked a 39-yard field goal with 50 seconds left and Terence Newman made a walkoff interception to send the JerryWorld majority home happy. Which is no small thing in 2010.

There seems to be growing belief that Garrett is the man for the job. Maybe even from Jerry Jones himself.

Morgantown, W.Va. When West Virginia athletic director Oliver Luck pushed solid coach Bill Stewart out the door, Luck said he just didn't believe Stewart could take West Virginia to a national championship.
Isn't it that simple? If Jones believes Garrett can win a Super Bowl, you hire him. If Jones doesn't believe Garrett can win a Super Bowl, you don't hire him.
And here's the trouble with getting all giddy over Garrett. He's being compared to Wade Phillips, who was a favorite of mine but totally lost this team. The pre-Garrett Cowboys were a joke. Now they're not.
But you can't go comparing Garrett to Phillips. You've got to compare him to Andy Reid and Tom Coughlin.
