Kansas coach Bill Self:

"The Big East probably is the premier league to date with six (teams) in the top 10. But (five ranked teams) puts us right there to be considered among the best one or two leagues in the country."

Missouri coach Mike Anderson:

"This potentially has a chance to be one of the deeper teams we've had and probably talent-wise. But sometimes that doesn't always mesh together. But with these guys things are starting to come together."

Kansas State coach Frank Martin:

"I love our team. We have a great group of guys. But as far as games played we're the second-youngest team in the Big 12. We're young and immature. (The suspensions) forced our team to react to adversity."

Texas coach Rick Barnes:

"This is a group that's unselfish, that's flexible, you can do a lot of things with. When you have a group of guys that mesh and get along ... it's a great group to be around. That's what you love."

Baylor coach Scott Drew:

"One thing about being ranked is you get everyone's A game. You can't sneak up on anybody. You're the hunted instead of doing the hunting. Last year's team through nonconference we had the opposite effect."

Texas A&M coach Mark Turgeon:

"I know we're much better offensively than we're playing. We have a lot of really good basketball players that can score. That's going to get better but we've hung our hat on defense and rebounding."
