With a Division I scholarship offer on the table, it was tough for Millwood receiver Brandon Swindall to sit and watch Signing Day pass.
And it's a gamble, too. He knows that.
Yet the 6-foot-4, 175-pound PARADE All-American told New Mexico he was going to wait, rather than sign a letter of intent Wednesday, and see what else comes up.
“It's a little scary,” Swindall said. “I told New Mexico I was gonna wait, but if I wait, I don't know if I'll still have that. But if I don't wait, something else might come up, but I would already be signed.
“I just hope it all plays out right.”
Programs such as Arkansas and Baylor have been in contact with Swindall and the Millwood coaching staff in recent days.
There might be the potential for an opening at one of those programs after the Signing Day dust settles, and Swindall would be among the top unsigned — and academically qualified — recruits on the market.
