A wind advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. for northwest Oklahoma from Blaine County to the Panhandle. Sustained northwest winds of 30 to 35 mph are forecast throughout the day with gusts up to 55 mph in areas from Watonga to Woodward.

Winds in parts of central Oklahoma that were hit by tornadoes Tuesday night are expected to gust up to 40 mph Wednesday, the weather service reports.

The weather service warns of flying debris hazards that could affect travel on roadways.

Oklahoma City area forecast

Wednesday: Sunny through midmorning, then becoming mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. Windy, with a west wind 11 to 14 mph increasing to between 26 and 29 mph. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 55. Windy, with a north northwest wind 26 to 29 mph decreasing to between 14 and 17 mph. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.
