12 counties in Oklahoma granted FEMA public assistance for May storms

Blaine, Caddo, Canadian, Delaware, Grady, Jefferson, Kingfisher, Le Flore, Logan, Major, McClain and Osage counties have been granted public assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, according to a news release from Gov. Mary Fallin's office.

A dozen Oklahoma counties hit by severe storms and tornadoes May 22-25 have been granted public assistance funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency following a request by Gov. Mary Fallin.

Blaine, Caddo, Canadian, Delaware, Grady, Jefferson, Kingfisher, Le Flore, Logan, Major, McClain and Osage counties experienced an estimated $15 million in infrastructure damage, debris removal and response costs because of the storms, according to a news release from Fallin's office. Other counties may be added as needed.

Individual assistance already has been granted for damage to homes and businesses in seven counties. Eleven people were killed in the storms, and hundreds of homes and businesses were damaged or destroyed.
