Kevin Durant gives back to the kids

On Tuesday, Kevin Durant was in Chicago for the Nike Skills Academy. On Wednesday and Thursday, he's in Oklahoma City for his own camp. And on Friday, he'll be in Austin, Texas, to put on another camp.

Talk about a hectic week.

Durant's third annual camp at Heritage Hall, sold out for a month and a half, had more than 450 in attendance Wednesday.

Even with his busy schedule the former Texas Longhorn finds time to give back to the people who look up to him the most, the kids.

“This is probably one of the highlights of my summer,” Durant said. “Just coming back and going through the camp with these guys.”

Commentating during games and teaching kids different drills he practices as a professional, Durant stays active throughout the camp day.

“I just want to interact as much as I can,” Durant said. “Joking around with the kids, blocking their shots, and dunking goes a long way. I'm a big kid myself and I always love being in the gym.”

He brings in guys from the Washington, D.C., area to get them involved and keep the camp within his inner circle.

Former Western Kentucky forward Cliff Dixon was working out at home preparing for a showcase in Richmond, and Durant told him if he didn't have any workouts this week he was coming to the camp. Dixon obliged.

“I love coming to the camp,” Dixon said. “I like working with kids so it's just fun for me. Anytime I get a chance to come to the camp I'm going to come. I'm going to all of them.”
