Travis Lewis never met an interview he didn't like. Needless to say, the Oklahoma linebacker and Big 12 preseason defensive player of the year was in his element at Media Days.
There are a lot of expectations of the Sooners this season. Does that change anything for you?
Definitely not. Playing at this university, we don't shy away from pressure. We embrace it. If you're going to play at the University of Oklahoma, you'd better be ready to have an X on your chest and be circled by every team.
You're getting some love, too. What's that been like?
I'm an older guy. I can deal with it. But you've still got to go out there and make tackles.
What have you done in the offseason to try and have the season everyone's expecting of you?
I've dropped a little weight. I wanted to play leaner and a little lighter to run around with these young guys I'm playing against. (Laughs.) But mainly in the film room, I'm getting in there, getting an early start on these teams. I know Texas changed their offensive coordinator, so just familiarizing myself with that offensive coordinator and getting a jump on these teams.
