Counselor says former OKC officer is not attracted to boys

Defense attorneys for a former Oklahoma City police sergeant accused of molesting four teenage boys while they were under his care are asking a judge to reconsider his decision to deny bail.

Maurice Martinez, 45, faces 32 felony counts of sexual child abuse and three other felony counts — threatening a witness, child pornography possession and child abuse.

He also faces two misdemeanor counts for conspiracy to obstruct an officer and harboring an endangered runaway child.

On Friday, his attorneys filed a motion asking a judge to set bond based on new evidence. The motion includes a report by a professional counselor who evaluated Martinez on July 26. The counselor, G. Richard Kishur, gave Martinez a psychosexual evaluation and found Martinez has “no significant interest in males of any age,” according to the report.

During the assessment, Martinez viewed non-pornographic slides of adolescent and adult males and females, according to court records. He also responded to a questionnaire.

His sexual interest pattern was “normal” for a heterosexual adult male, Kishur wrote in his report.

The validity of the report is limited to the accuracy of the information provided by Martinez and other sources, Kishur states.
