Oklahoam State's Brandon Weeden and Oklahoma's Travis Lewis were named the top players in The Oklahoman's preseason All-Big 12 team. Lewis got the nod even with the injury because he'll likely be back by Big 12 play.

Offensive Player of the Year: Brandon Weeden, Oklahoma State

Defensive Player of the Year: Travis Lewis, Oklahoma

Newcomer of the Year: Malcolm Brown, Texas


Quarterback: Brandon Weeden, OSU

Running back: Cyrus Gray, Texas A&M

Wide receiver: Justin Blackmon, OSU; Ryan Broyles, OU; Jeff Fuller, Texas A&M

Tight end: Michael Egnew, Missouri

Offensive line: Levy Adcock, OSU; Lonnie Edwards, Texas Tech; Ben Habern, OU; Luke Joeckel, Texas A&M; Kelechi Osemele, Iowa State.

Kicker: Grant Ressel, Missouri.

Punt returner: Ryan Broyles, Oklahoma


Defensive line: Dominique Hamilton, Missouri; Tevin Elliott, Baylor; Kheeston Randall, Texas; Brad Madison, Missouri.
