What they're saying about routs — OSU's Todd Monken: ‘I've never had to pull a quarterback that early'

From Staff Reports Published: October 12, 2011

OSU coach Mike Gundy on the 70-28 win against Kansas: “We had a chance to get a lot of players in the game, which is good. A lot of young men that give a lot to our football team had a chance to get out there and play in front of their moms and dads. That's really a neat day, and I get a big kick out of that.”

OU defensive end Frank Alexander: “I think the coaches know when they've had enough. We kind of manage all that. They're making sure to save you for the next week. I feel like they know. They try to get you out and get the younger guys in and get their confidence levels up.”

OSU offensive coordinator Todd Monken: “I've never had to pull a quarterback that early. But I have been on the other end where the other team's quarterback came out really early and it didn't feel real good. Everything just kind of happened to make it go that way.”
