Justin Blackmon was held out of Oklahoma State's practice Sunday night after getting “dinged” in the head during the first half of Saturday's win against Missouri.

Coach Mike Gundy is optimistic that the Cowboys' star receiver will play against Baylor.

“I expect him to be fine,” Gundy said Sunday night. “They haven't done all those tests and things that they do — that takes place (Monday). But he (was) over here (Sunday) and walking around and he (looked) normal to me.”

Blackmon had eight catches for 54 yards and a touchdown in the first half at MU but did not play in the second half. Gundy said Blackmon's concussion tests will take place sometime Monday afternoon.

GUNDY ALWAYS IMPRESSED WITH GRIFFIN III

A visit from Baylor this Saturday means a visit from Robert Griffin III, who ranks first in the nation in passing efficiency (205.71).

But while Griffin III has had a breakout season on a national level this year, Gundy said he has always been impressed with the quarterback, dating back to Griffin's first time facing the Cowboys in 2008. In that game, he completed 15 of 27 passes for 162 yards as a true freshman.

“We didn't know a lot about him as a quarterback, but he showed up and made plays as a freshman and then got hurt (in 2009),” Gundy said. “But he was pretty impressive early in his career without having much experience, and then he's continued to get better and better.
