Another 4.7 earthquake

strikes Lincoln County

— Another earthquake, registered at 4.7 magnitude, was centered in Lincoln County on Monday night, and it could be felt throughout central Oklahoma.

The epicenter was about five miles northwest of Prague, or 44 miles east of Oklahoma City, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake hit about 8:47 p.m.

Lincoln County dispatchers said they received quite a few calls about the most recent quake, but the only damage reported has been to a home near Prague that already had been damaged by previous tremors.

Joe and Mary Reneau's 43-year-old home near Prague was rocked yet again Monday night.

“It wasn't as bad as even the first one,” Mary Reneau said, referring to the 4.7 quake that struck about 2 a.m. Saturday.

“Some things fell out again, but to be honest, there's not much left to break,” she said.

The chimney collapsed onto their roof Saturday night, but was removed by a crane Sunday, leaving a gaping hole in the ceiling. Thunderstorms also rolled through the area Monday night.

“It's home. This is a pain in the neck, but it's still home,” she said.

“When you break it down to the basics, you need shelter, you need food and you need water, and I have all of the above.”
