STILLWATER — Being a Heisman hopeful means Brandon Weeden is in demand when it comes to media requests.

Weeden talked about being in contention for that award, closing in on OSU's career passing mark and what makes this Cowboy team special during a national teleconference on Tuesday.

You need 150 yards to become OSU's all-time passing leader. How does that feel?

“I really haven't thought about it. I honestly didn't even know that. It's obviously cool. That's one those things you've got to take a lot of pride in. I would probably guess Zac (Robinson) holds the record now, and his success here was obviously very good and he's a great player and been a great friend. Obviously, it's something I'll take pride in down the road, when I'm done playing.

What's it like to be in the Heisman discussion?

“I'm excited to be even mentioned in the same breath as guys like Andrew Luck and Trent Richardson and the other guys that are being mentioned for it. They're obviously two of the best players in the country, along with Case (Keenum) and Kellen (Moore). Just to be mentioned with those guys is obviously just extremely exciting. It's something I don't take for granted. If I was able to go to New York, I'd be excited about it. That also means that we're doing a lot great things as a team and we're winning games.

Do you feel you've improved your footwork since last season?

“Absolutely. We do drills every day (working on) pocket presence, stepping up in the pocket, just keeping your feet underneath you. Those carry over to games. If you look at early in the year last year to the middle part last year, those are the things I needed to work on. It's not every time, because not every play is going to be perfect. But for the most part, I've been able to really kind of take those things we work on at practice and transfer them over to the game. I think they've come a long way. In order to play quarterback, you look at all the guys on Sunday that have a lot of success like Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, their feet are just unbelievable. That's all I watch. When I watch NFL games, I just watch their pocket presence and their feet and how they maneuver in the pocket.”

What's the chemistry like on this team?
