Local, smaller stores to get

involved with Black Friday deals


Retailers participating in Black Friday this year extend beyond the major big-box retailers. Smaller stores, local shops as well as national chains will offer special deals Friday, including:

Half Price Books opens at 7 a.m. and is giving the first 100 shoppers a free tote bag and $5 gift card. One person will win a $100 gift card. Offers include 40 percent off the highest price item or $15 off a purchase of $100 or more.

MetroShoe Warehouse is offering shoppers 10 percent off their entire purchase (excluding doorbusters) from 7 a.m. to noon.

Whole Foods Market will have a 20 percent discount on TOMS shoes.
