1. MIAMI HEAT (52-14 projected)

Additions: F Shane Battier; C Eddy Curry; C Mickell Gladness; PG Jeremy Wise

Subtractions: C Jamaal Magloire

Shrinking or growing: Growing. Battier is the missing link to the Heat winning not one title, not two, not three … One year of experience for Miami Thrice helps makes this the best team in the league.

2. CHICAGO BULLS (50-16)

Additions: SG Richard Hamilton; G Jimmy Butler

Subtractions: SG Rasual Butler; C Kurt Thomas

Shrinking/growing: Growing. Point guard and MVP Derrick Rose hopefully will remember he has a terrific supporting cast to help him, especially with the wild-card addition of Hamilton.

3. BOSTON CELTICS (41-25)

Additions: F Brandon Bass; SG Marquis Daniels; G Keyon Dooling; F JaJuan Johnson; G E'Twaun Moore; C Greg Stiemsma; PF Chris Wilcox

Subtractions: F Glen Davis; G Delonte West; C Nenad Krstic; G Von Wafer

Shrinking/growing: Shrinking. The Celtics are becoming a relic. They lost a young gun in Glen "Big Baby" Davis to Orlando, and now Jeff Green is out for the season with an aortic aneurysm.

4. ORLANDO (40-26)

Additions: F Glen Davis; PG Gabe Pruitt; F Justin Harper; SG Larry Hughes; G DeAndre Liggins

Subtractions: SG Gilbert Arenas; F Brandon Bass
