Oklahoma population up 1 percent since 2010

WASHINGTON — Oklahoma gained about 40,000 residents in the 15 months after the 2010 census, lifting its population to 3,791,508, according to the U.S. Census Bureau .

The state's growth rate was 1.1 percent from April 2010 to July 2011. Oklahoma remained the 28th largest state.
