Daxx Garman is coming back to Oklahoma.

The former Jones quarterback whose ineligibility caused the Longhorns to forfeit six wins in 2009 will transfer from Arizona to Oklahoma State, the Arizona Republic reported.

Garman told the newspaper Thursday he will enroll at OSU early next month. He must sit out the 2012 season but will be eligible to compete as a sophomore in 2013. He redshirted at Arizona this fall.

“I'm getting the opportunity to move closer to home,” Garman told the Republic. “My family can be more involved in the situation, and I felt like it's a better opportunity for me. Oklahoma State, they have a great football environment. The fans are great people there, and they support the Oklahoma State football program completely. I'm very excited to be a part of that.”

Oklahoma State coaches recruited Garman during his high school career, which was filled with eligibility questions at every stop.

Garman, who lived in Choctaw, transferred to Carl Albert with a hardship waiver for his sophomore season. He spent the year as the Titans' backup quarterback.

His family moved to Jones before his junior season, but OSSAA rules stipulate that, because he had transferred before, he would need to apply for another hardship waiver to be eligible in Jones. The Garman family did not apply for another hardship, so he was ruled ineligible for six games of his junior year.
