*Scouting report: San Antonio is the American Hockey League affiliate of the Florida Panthers. The Rampage's roster has been shuffled considerably due to player promotions and injury. Six different goaltenders have played for San Antonio this season. In comparison, Oklahoma City has used Yann Danis and David LeNeveu since the start of the season in October. ... Barons forward Tristan Grant is listed as day-to-day after taking a puck to the face during Wednesday night's game vs. Rochester. Grant was trying to block a shot. ... Like the parent Edmonton Oilers, the Barons are getting thin on the defensive end. On Friday, the AHL announced that defenseman Taylor Chorney has been suspended three games for an illegal check to the head during Wednesday night's game. Chorney popped Rochester forward Evan Rankin, who was assisted to the dressing room. Chorney can return to Oklahoma City's lineup Friday, Jan. 6, at Toronto. ... The Barons (21-7-1-3) remain in first place, two standings points ahead of Abbotsford and three in front of Houston in the West Division. San Antonio (14-14-2-0) is fourth, 16 points behind OKC.
*Up next: Saturday night's game is the Barons' last at home until Friday, Jan. 13, vs. Rockford. Until then, Oklahoma City has a four-game road swing that includes stops in Houston (5:05 p.m. Sunday), Cleveland (6 p.m. Wednesday), Toronto (6 p.m. Friday), and Hamilton, Ontario (2 p.m. Jan. 8).
