The eastbound lanes of the old Interstate 40 Crosstown likely will be closed by Thursday’s evening commute, a state Transportation Department representative said.

All ramps to and from the old eastbound lanes will be closed at 9 a.m. and the current eastbound lanes are scheduled to be shut down Thursday afternoon as the switch is made to the new eastbound 1-40 Crosstown.

Motorists are strongly encouraged to find other routes through the lunch hour.
