Oklahoma's only linebacker commitment might not stay there long. At 6 foot 1 and 195 pounds, Tampa, Fla.-area native Eric Striker might be a better fit at safety, even if he is listed as an outside linebacker.
In any case, the Sooners and analysts like his ability to be physical.
“He's not the biggest or fastest kid, but he loves football and his last name is appropriate,” said JC Shurburtt, 247Sports' national recruiting director.
Striker also had offers from West Virginia, Tennessee, Iowa and others, though he had long wanted to go to OU. That didn't change even after Brent Venables left for Clemson and Mike Stoops joined the coaching staff as its defensive coordinator.
Striker's high school, Armwood, won the Florida 6A title this past season and it was highly ranked nationally by several publications.
