The Oklahoma City apartment at 1691 Heyman belonged to Michael Knight, 27, records filed Thursday show.

Prosecutors say Knight, who's been arrested numerous times the past two years, told witnesses the Saunders slaying was carried out at the apartment and that a woman named Rachel cleaned up the mess. He is now in Oklahoma County jail in an unrelated case.

Documents filed in Oklahoma County reveal investigators removed hair, a machete with a 20-inch blade, a piece of linoleum tile and a towel with a dark stain on it when they searched the apartment in December.

A BlackBerry, a roll of black electrical tape and traps from the kitchen and bathroom sinks also were seized by police.

Investigators searching the property found the residence abandoned just a few days before Christmas, the smell of bleach thick in the air.

Blood, hair and bugs were found in a freezer inside the apartment. Blood also was detected in the living room and a bedroom, records show.

According to the Department of Corrections website, Knight is 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 280 pounds. He also has tattoo on his left arm that says “Monster.”
