Class 2A girls basketball: Jordynn Vanpelt scores 29 points as Snyder rips Colcord

The defending state champion advances to the semifinals at the Big House.

Jordynn Vanpelt had a game-high 29 points and nine rebounds as defending state champion Snyder hammered Colcord 63-37 Thursday in the first round of the Class 2A Girls State Basketball Tournament at Abe Lemons Arena.

Marley Anderson added 19 points and four boards.

Snyder (23-3) has reached the semifinals the last three seasons. The Cyclones will play Northeast at 6 p.m. Friday at the Big House on the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds.

Kindle Spry had 12 points and nine rebounds for Colcord (18-7). Spry gave the Hornets their last lead, 5-4, early in the first quarter. Snyder used a 12-0 run to start the rout.
