Anadarko junior Kylie Parker was frustrated, but she became even more frustrated when she broke her left pinky during the third quarter.

Somehow, though, she found a way to bury back-to-back 3-pointers to open the fourth quarter and ignite the second-ranked Warriors to the Class 4A girls championship with a 46-37 victory over defending champion and top-ranked Fort Gibson.

Prior to the back-to-back 3-pointers, Parker had been 0 for 7 from beyond the arc, but she continued to let it fly.

“It just felt good when I released that ball,” Parker said. “I was getting down on myself a lot. My teammates kept coming to me and telling me to keep my head up, keep shooting. They fell in the fourth quarter.”

It’s been quite the year for Anadarko.

The basketball championship is the school’s second and first since 2005 after finishing as runner-up in 2000 and 2002. The football team also won the Class 3A championship in December and the powerlifting team also won state on Friday.

Parker's 3s were just another part of the cog for Anadarko at State Fair Arena. Freshman Ashley Beatty scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, junior Lakota Beatty scored eight of her 10 points in the second quarter and the Warriors defense wore down the Tigers in the fourth quarter.

“It's hard to stop five players when you put them all on the floor that can score,” Lakota Beatty said. “It's what we did. We were just the better team today.”

Lakota Beatty made sure of that in the second quarter when she scored eight straight points to give the Warriors a 16-15 lead at halftime.
