Isaiah Tryon will face a murder charge in connection with the stabbing death of his child's mother, a brutal slaying witnessed by dozens of people at Oklahoma City's busy Metro Transit hub.

Tia Bloomer, 19, was stabbed multiple times before a security guard pulled the suspect off her and put him in handcuffs about 10:30 a.m. March 16, police said.

Tryon, 22, was the father of Bloomer's 2-year-old child and had a history of violence toward her, records show. He was serving a deferred sentence after pleading guilty in November to abusing Bloomer and also was accused of firing a gun at her in 2010 while she was holding their baby.

Oklahoma County Prosecutor David Prater approved the charge this week in district court.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Tryon confessed to the murder multiple times during an interview with investigators.

Other charges for recent homicides approved by the prosecutor's office include:

Darron Darrell Fair, 23

Fair will face a murder charge for the Jan. 17 slaying of Donte Deshawn McCarther, 21, who was found dead near a breezeway at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of N Council Road in Oklahoma City. McCarther died of multiple gunshot wounds. Police believe Fair shot McCarther with a rifle during a robbery, according to court documents.
