The St. Louis Cardinals will continue to have the most Major League Baseball telecasts in Oklahoma this season with 150 games scheduled to air on Fox Sports Plus.
The Texas Rangers are next with 117 scheduled games, although that number will vary according to the number of Oklahoma City Thunder playoff telecasts. The number of Rangers telecasts is down 10 from last year, but for a good reason — the team is scheduled for 14 network broadcasts (seven on ESPN and seven on Fox).
However, the main reason for the discrepancy with the Cardinals' total is the lack of Rangers' Friday night games. For the third year in a row, the KTXA-21 Friday night games are not airing in Oklahoma City. The package is not available to Cox Communications because it is only offered to over-the-air broadcast stations.
The Houston Astros, parent club of the Oklahoma City RedHawks, will be shown 67 times. That's up 15 times from last season, when the team had the major league's worst record (56-106).
Some of the Cardinals' telecasts also will air on The Cox Channel (channel 3 and 703), but that number is not determined. Cox is scheduling games only a month at a time.
Here is a team-by-team look at the six teams that have local broadcasts in Oklahoma, including team broadcasters:
