Tickets are on sale for the University of Oklahoma's production of “Seussical the Musical,” based on the books of Dr. Seuss.

The production opens at 8 p.m. Friday at the Rupel J. Jones Theatre at Boyd Street and Elm Avenue. It will continue its run at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 3 and May 5, with 3 p.m. matinees scheduled Sunday and May 6.

Tickets are $30 for adults; $25 for senior adults, OU faculty, staff and members of the military and $15 for students.

“Seussical the Musical” debuted on Broadway in 2000. The show spawned two national tours and a tour in England.

Tony Award-winning writers Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty bring to life such Dr. Seuss characters as Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination — JoJo.

Lyn Cramer, a Weitzenhoffer Endowed Professor of musical theater dance, serves as director and choreographer for the show.
