Sports media notebook: NBA TV to produce up to eight playoff games

Fox Sports Oklahoma can carry only first-round Thunder telecasts

NBA viewers won't have to listen to local broadcasters during nationally televised NBA playoff games anymore. NBA TV, which reaches about 55 million viewers, has announced it will produce up to eight playoff games this season.

The league channel, managed by Turner Sports, will use NBA TV and TNT broadcasters. Viewers should expect network-quality broadcasts, including coaches being miked, and complete studio shows. In recent seasons, the network has simulcast local broadcasts.

Fox Sports Oklahoma can only broadcast Thunder games for the first round of the playoffs. They will be simulcast with either ESPN, TNT or NBA TV. ABC has exclusive rights for its playoff games.
