Three bicyclists hurt at Lake Hefner

A 70-year-old man was taken to a hospital in critical condition and two people were hurt after colliding while bicycling at the Lake Hefner Dam Tuesday evening, authorities said.

Three people were hurt when a 70-year-old man collided with two members of a bicycling team at Lake Hefner Tuesday evening, authorities said.

About 7 p.m., four bicyclists were traveling east at the Lake Hefner Dam when a 70-year-old man bicycling west collided with two of them, Emergency Medical Services Authority spokeswoman Lara O'Leary said.

The 70-year-old man was taken to a hospital in critical condition, and the other two injured bicyclists were in good condition, she said.

It was not known whether any of the bicyclists were wearing protective gear. has disabled the comments for this article.
