TULSA — The University of Tulsa has named a Southern Methodist University engineering dean as its new president.
Geoffrey Orsak will replace President Steadman Upham, who is retiring June 30. The University of Tulsa Board of Trustees has approved Orsak's hiring.
Orsak received his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Rice University. He says he hopes to build upon the success of the university's recent $698 million fundraising campaign called Embrace the Future.
Orsak says he's “honored and humbled” to lead the school.
The University of Tulsa has an enrollment of 4,000 students in its undergraduate, graduate and law programs.
