Fallin signed the new rules Wednesday. The same day, however, a House committee voted 9-1 to disapprove the new rules, setting up a possible showdown between the governor and the GOP-controlled Legislature.

The resolution disapproving of the new rules heads to the full House for a vote. If it passes the House and Senate, the rules Fallin signed would be scuttled.

School officials and lawmakers say they're concerned about the way the grades are determined and a lack of input in the rule-making process.
