After finishing off their first-round series against Houston on April 24, the Barons have had plenty of time to rest — and practice — recently.

Barons coach Todd Nelson gave the same several days off during the stretch and allowed the Barons time to heal up a bit for the series against San Antonio, which begins at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cox Center.

Nelson called San Antonio a “patient, disciplined” team.

The series between the teams was even (4-4-0-0) and low scoring. Three of the eight games finished 1-0.

Discount tickets, beer offered

Tickets for the series start at $11, a discount from the regular season.

Tickets are available by calling 232-4625, at Ticketmaster outlets and online at Ticketmaster.com.

Thursday's game will also feature $1 Bud and Bud Light through the end of the second intermission.

Also, the first 2,000 fans will receive a blue Barons T-shirt.

During Saturday's second game of the series, a fan will have the chance to shoot from center ice to win a 2012 Ford F-150. Fans can sign up for a chance to be selected at the game.

Teubert was transported to a hospital after that game.

“He'll be missed in the locker room too,” Teemu Hartikainen said. “He's one of the guys in there that's always talking.
