The first four hitters faced by unbeaten Claremore pitcher Bryce Howe did the following: Singled, reached on an error, doubled and hit a home run. Suddenly, Durant was up 4-1 and Howe's 10-0 pitching record was in jeopardy Friday.

But the Zebras rallied with timely hitting up and down the lineup. Howe settled down nicely, too.

Howe finished with 12 strikeouts as Claremore toppled Durant 15-6 in the Class 5A state baseball tournament semifinals before 500 at the Tulsa Union baseball and softball complex.

The Zebras will take a 32-4 record into Saturday's championship. Claremore will face Carl Albert at noon at Oral Roberts University's J.L. Johnson Stadium. The Titans ousted McAlester 10-2 in the other semifinal.

Carl Albert will attempt to win its third state crown and first since 2009.
