A woman was in the Oklahoma County jail Wednesday after witnesses told police she beat her 2-year-old daughter in a Walmart parking lot.

Elizabeth Ann Wolfe, 38, was arrested on a complaint of parent engaging in child abuse after a 911 caller told police that a woman was abusing her child about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday in the Walmart Supercenter parking lot, 6100 W Reno Ave.

Officers said a witness reported seeing Wolfe slap the child five or six times on the lower half of her body and in the face. Another witness said the child was hit with a closed fist below the neck six or seven times.

Wolfe reportedly told the 911 caller, “This is my (expletive) kid. I can do whatever I want.”

Police said the child had swelling on her left cheek, red marks on her arms and old bruising on her back. The child was taken to The Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center.
