OU softball notebook: Sooner baseball team supports softball counterparts
NORMAN — Oklahoma's baseball team got a day off Friday from the Big 12 Tournament, and used it to return a favor.

The Sooner baseball players watched their softball counterparts beat Arizona 6-0 in Game 1 of an NCAA Super Regional from the left-field stands, and made their presence known frequently.
They started the “Boomer Sooner” chant multiple times, requested curtain calls after home runs from Keilani Ricketts and Katie Norris and made game-long efforts to get in Arizona players' heads.
In the seventh inning, when Wildcats leadoff hitter Karissa Buchanan was at the plate, some of the baseball team chanted “Karissa,” and the others responded, “Can't hit.” She struck out swinging.
“We went out to watch their Big 12 game this week (the 1-0 win over Oklahoma State,” said freshman Lauren Chamberlain. “We tried to be as loud as we can there; they were trying to get the other team rattled and I think they did a little bit.”

Arizona coach Mike Candrea was dealt a difficult hand with some last-minute health issues.
