WHITE FIELDS CELEBRATION
Who: 400 people, community and civic leaders, mentors, volunteers, supporters, and donors of White Fields were at a dinner celebration.
Where: The event was on the White Fields campus under a tent. Decor was country chic with globe lighting, wagon wheel chandeliers, hay bales and centerpieces of herbs, which were repurposed in the campus gardens.
What: Guests commemorated the fifth-year anniversary. They toured the boys living quarters and new educational facility. Music was by Banana Seat and special presentations were given to Bobby Young, a White Fields mentor, and board members Robert Braver and Ken Davidson for their support of White Fields. Co-founders Tom Ward and Trent Ward were also on the program, and one of the boys gave a speech about his life.
Why: The celebration was an event to thank supporters, volunteers and donors.
How: Mission of White Fields is to provide a “continuum model of care offering a long-term home for abused and neglected boys.” These boys are in permanent custody of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services Child Welfare Division.
SYMPHONY SHOW HOUSE EVENING
Party: Jose Freede and daughters, Cathy Freede and Margaret Owens, entertained at the final dinner for the 2012 Symphony Show House. About 150 guests toured the house and then enjoyed dinner in the air-conditioned tent set up outside. Freede, a Show House supporter for the last 39 years, thanked the guests for attending, including Debby and Paul Dudman for providing drinks for the event.
Elegant entertaining: Beautiful bouquets of pink and coral-colored roses, anemones and tulips decorated the tables and a huge bouquet of flowers was on the buffet table. Dinner was beef tenderloin, salmon, chicken, fresh garden peas and asparagus, and a variety of desserts including chocolate mousse.

ON THE TOWN
Show house evening: 180 people attended the annual Symphony Show House evening sponsored by First Fidelity Bank. Cheever's Restaurant catered dinner.
Location: The party was at 440 NW 15 and showcased interior and exterior designers and their room displays throughout the house that featured the latest in decorating styles.
Need to know: It was the 39th year for the Show House, which benefits Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra. Debbie Minter and Polly Worthington were Show House co-chairmen.
Picnic: Tina and Elby Beal were hosts for a bridal shower and French picnic honoring Erin and Ross Hazelwood who were married at the All Souls Episcopal Church Chapel in February. Guests were family members and close friends.
Hosts: Hosts for the event were the Beals, Adelaide and Bill Liedtke, Sody and Robert Clements and Pat Gallagher and Doug Parr. They gave the couple a picnic basket filled with everything they might need for a French picnic.
Ambience: Tables were set up on the patio and around the swimming pool. Tablecloths were French Provencal style and there were flower bouquets of sunflowers. Eiffel towers and photos of the couple from their wedding were also on the tables.
Dinner: A tabletop shower and dinner honored Rachel Brown, daughter of Tracey and Rick Brown, and Nathan Nash, son of Leslie and Phil Nash. Leslie and Scott Samara were hosts in their home. Co-hosts were Karen and Rob Braver, Seyan and John Hefner, Lucinda and David Huffman, Mary and J. Robert Reneau, Mary Kay and Bobby Samis, Gayla and Tom Stapleton and Susie Viele. Daughters of the hosts were Casady classmates of the bride-to-be.
Gift: A William Yeoward blue porcelain cache pot was given to the couple who will be married in June.
Menu/flowers: The menu included beef tenderloin, smoked salmon, stuffed grape leaves and a tabbouleh torte, along petit fours iced with the couple's initials. Tall vases of white orchids were the centerpieces.
