WHAT THEY'RE SAYING

Here is a look at what players, coaches, analysts and others were saying about Game 1 between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs:

*TNT analyst Charles Barkley: “This is going to be a magnificent seven-game series.”

*TNT analyst Kenny Smith on Spurs point guard Tony Parker: “The one thing you want to hope for is that his jump shot isn't clicking. Then, all of a sudden, you are limiting his paint opportunities.”

*Barkley: “Tony Parker has been the best point guard this year. Russell Westbrook has been arguably the second-best.”

*TNT color analyst and Arizona alum Steve Kerr on Thunder guard and Arizona State alum James Harden's beard: “Look at that thing. I think there's got to be a small bird in there somewhere. C'mon, guys. He's a Sun Devil. I'm a Wildcat.”

*TNT play-by-play man Marv Albert: “Derek Fisher hears it from the crowd when he checks in.”

*Kerr on the game-winning shot that Fisher hit to propel the Lakers to a playoff victory against Spurs in 2004: “They haven't forgotten, have they?”

*San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich during a fourth-quarter timeout with his team trailing: “Are we having fun yet? I need a little more dose of nasty. It's not supposed to be easy.”

*Popovich on his “dose of nasty” comment: “Oh, I said that? In the heat of the game, sometimes things come out of my mouth and it's embarrassing. I thought we were playing for most of the first half and some of the second half unconfidently. You've got to drive it. You've got to shoot it.”
