Police identify man beaten after losing $20 bet on Oklahoma City Thunder game

Police said Jesus Alonzo Jr., 55, was beaten severely Saturday night after losing a bet on the Oklahoma City Thunder's Game 4.

Police have identified a man who was severely beaten Saturday night after he refused to pay $20 he lost in a bet on the Thunder's Game 4 win over the San Antonio Spurs.

Officers were called to 4500 Cherry Hill Lane about 10 p.m. Saturday and found the man bleeding from the face. Police have identified the man as Jesus Alonzo Jr., 55.

A witness told officers Alonzo was kicked in the face several times. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police said he lost a bet with another resident at his apartment complex and was beaten after he refused to pay.

The altercation remains under investigation.
