Dear Oklahoma City Thunder fans and entire community,
I want to congratulate the wonderful people of Oklahoma City, Clay Bennett and the entire Thunder organization on reaching your first NBA Finals and being only four wins away from bringing the first major professional sports championship to the great state of Oklahoma.
Although reaching the Finals is a great accomplishment, the best is yet to come as winning this year's championship is not only within reach, but I predict many championships will be celebrated in Oklahoma with what I believe are the most loyal and passionate fans in the country.
As I reflect on my 20+ years of owning the Hornets, one of the best and most gratifying decisions in my career was to bring our franchise to Oklahoma City as a temporary home following Hurricane Katrina. That opportunity allowed the world to see how devoted, supportive and hungry you were for an NBA team. Not only have you been rewarded with your own permanent team, but your players represent you so admirably on and off the court. You should be very proud of this just as Denise and I are so proud to have called Oklahoma City home for a period of time.
Congratulations to all once again for this accomplishment and know that I am not only a devoted fan of your team, but also of the great people of Oklahoma City and throughout the state.
