NORMAN
Children's choir to perform
The Utah Valley Children's Choir will present a free concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1506 W Imhoff Road.
The 170-member choir with members ages 8 to 18 also will perform a free concert at 7 p.m. July 18 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 12915 S Santa Fe Ave. in Moore.
Street closing announced
Beginning Monday, Jenkins Avenue, between E Lindsey Street and Farmer Street, will be closed for installation of underground utilities to serve the University of Oklahoma dormitory center being built at E Lindsey and Jenkins.
Work should be completed by July 30.
Detour signs will be posted.
Directors named to arts council
The Norman Arts Council has announced its board of directors for the 2012-2013 year. Susan Greer has been named president; Sherry Brown, vice president; and Kate Butler, secretary.
Larry Walker has been named grant committee chairman and public arts board representative.
Stephen Koranda will serve as the Norman Arts and Humanities round-table member.
Strategic planning co-chairs are Richard McKown and Melissa Scaramucci. Other members are Suman Basuroy, Carol Beesley, Michael Bendure, Anthony Francisco, John Frank, Sharon McCoy, Mark Morton, Amber Knox Roth and Lauren Sonder.
