SEQUOYAH — A judge in LeFlore County has scheduled an arraignment date for a man accused of stabbing his girlfriend at a Heavener motel and attacking her young son.

Special Judge Jeff Singer scheduled an Aug. 8 arraignment for 31-year-old Gregory Andrews.

Andrews faces two counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon in connection with the July 1 incident.

A local newspaper reports that Andrews is accused of stabbing his girlfriend at the Crane Motel in Heavener. An affidavit says officers responded to a call at 7 p.m. and met with two boys who said their mother was just stabbed.

The girlfriend was treated for her injuries at a Fort Smith, Ark., hospital.

Andrews waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday on the charges.
