SUGAR AND SPICE

Event: Oklahoma Children's Theatre Fairy Tale Ball.

Where: Oklahoma City Petroleum Club.

Theme: “Spellbound Potions & Pixie Dust'' with games, music, and dancing along with characters from classic tales.

The evening: Children dined on a buffet dinner, and adults had dinner. A live auction was conducted and the musical group “Urban Addition'' performed live on the dance floor.

DIVERSE CULTURES

Event: Cowboy & Couture.

Where: Oklahoma City Farmers Public Market.

To Benefit: Proceeds from this style show featuring international and local fashions will be used to fund Peace Through Business, a program that helps entrepreneurial Rwandan and Afghan women realize career dreams. IEEW, the Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women, which is based in Oklahoma, implements this program each year. Terry Neese is founder and CEO of IEEW.

Event: Fundraiser for Oklahoma Chapter, Sierra Club.

Where: Hosted by Oklahoma City Councilman Ed Shadid in his home at Founders Tower.

What: Fun, food and panoramic views — donations were welcome.

What: Opening Night party for Lyric Theatre production of “Sweet Charity.''

Where: Belle Isle Brewery.
