Cowboys coach Mike Gundy on if last year's success translated into the best Fan Appreciation Day yet: “We had a great fan day, but the Oklahoma State people are the same always. We always talk about the 30,000 strong who have been here for years and years. And it's grown to 50,000. They've always been awesome.”
Wideout Tracy Moore on replacing last year's stars: “There's a lot of people not thinking we're going to be as good this year, because we don't have (Justin) Blackmon and (Brandon) Weeden. That's big motivation to us, all of us. Knowing that those two players weren't the whole team. Just the stars. We definitely have the capability to put up the same numbers.”
Running back Jeremy Smith on expectations: “It is the same as two years ago. We are a lot of unknowns, and we don't care. We know what our team is capable of. It will be pretty much the same this year. We just have to go out and compete.”
Cornerback Brodrick Brown on true freshman quarterback Wes Lunt: “He is not a freshman. It is going to say freshman by his name, but he is not a freshman. He is a big guy, and he can make all the throws. He is getting in there with Coach (Todd) Monken, learning the playbook, and he is just going to keep getting better and better.”
