UPDATE: Log cabin in Little Axe burns Monday morning

Firefighters in Little Axe battled a grass and structure fire. Crews responded about 8:30 a.m. Monday.

9:40 a.m. The fire that burned down a log cabin-style house is out, Little Axe Assistant Fire Chief John Burrows said. The fire started in the house and caused a small grass fire. Crews remain on the scene dousing hot spots. Firefighters had to haul water to the fire on tanker trucks, he said. The cause and damage estimate is not available. Burrows said he does not know if anyone was home at the time of the fire but there are no reports of injuries.

8:55 a.m. LITTLE AXE – Firefighters have responded to a log cabin fire and a grass fire that is burning Monday morning, authorities report.

The fire is at 17700 Sundance Lane in Little Axe in Cleveland County east of Norman.

Norman and Oklahoma City firefighters are assisting Little Axe firefighters, according to Oklahoma City fire radio reports.
