Sunny and hot weather will return Wednesday to central Oklahoma, although not quite as hot as recent days, the National Weather Service reports.
Storms Tuesday knocked out power to electric customers in Oklahoma City. Wednesday morning there were still 1,350 customers in north Oklahoma City without power, Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. website shows.
The high temperature will be near 100 degrees Wednesday in Oklahoma City. There is a 40 percent chance of rain before 7 a.m. mainly.
The Oklahoma City area is under an air quality alert Wednesday, the weather service reports.
The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:
Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly before 7 a.m. Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 100. West, northwest wind around 7 mph becoming south, southwest in the afternoon.
Wednesday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy with a low around 76. East, southeast wind 6 to 8 mph becoming south southwest after midnight.
