Fantasy Football Preview 2012: San Francisco's David Akers leads kicker rankings

Former Oklahoma State standout Dan Bailey is fourth on the list after a strong rookie season.
by Michael Baldwin Published: August 13, 2012

1. David Akers (SF): Won't kick 44 FGs but obvious No. 1.

2. Stephen Gostkowski (NE): A safe pick on a dynamic offense.

3. Mason Crosby (GB): 68 PATs offset small drop in FGs.

4. Dan Bailey (Dall.): Was 32 of 37 on FGs his rookie season.

5. Alex Henery (Phil.) Eagles should be better so more chances.

6. Sebastian Janikowski (Oak.): Consistent and hits 50-yarders.

7. Garrett Hartley (NO): Make sure he wins the starting job.

8. Matt Bryant (Atl.): Good kicker for a high scoring offense.

9. Nate Kaeding (SD): Make sure he wins the starting job.

10. Jason Hanson (Det.): Old (21st year) but offense is potent.

11. Rob Bironas (Tenn.): Mr. Reliable always a safe pick.

12. Robbie Gould (Chi.): Solid and was 6-of-6 on 50-yarders.

(best of the rest)

13-Billy Cundiff (Balt.); 14-Mike Nugent (Cin.); 15-Shayne Graham (Hou.); 16-Connor Barth (TB); 17-Neil Rackers (Wash.); 18-Matt Prater (Den.); 19-Dan Carpenter (Mia.); 20-Rian Lindell (Buff.).
