Norman business to celebrate its fifth year

NORMAN -- Canine Sports Academy, 30217 Santa Fe, will be celebrating its fifth anniversary from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 15.

The special day will feature a "Second Chance Adoption Event" and American Kennel Club Responsible Dog Ownership Day.

Annette Janis, animal community, will have 20-minute sessions for $20 in which she will talk with dogs.

There will be scout dog training with Susan Owen and her film star dogs. Participants can watch her videos.

Kris Hurley will present a freestyle demonstration. Also scheduled are a flyball yeam demo, Lee Fairchild and his disc dogs and more.

Refreshments will include Eskimo Sno -- Snow Cones and free popcorn.

The Canine Sports Academy is a full spectrum dog training facility where staff helps pets become better family members.

The academy offers classes in puppy training and socialization, several levels of regular obedience, rally obedience, conformation, agility and therapy dog.

The facility hosts the local flyball team practices, matches, specialty dog shows, trials, workshops and seminars.

The business is owned and operated by Kathy Rasmussen.
